Eric Alberto-Lopez, professionally known as Ape Drums, is a Mexican-American DJ and producer from Houston, Texas, and a core member of Major Lazer. Starting out as a self-taught teenage producer, he built his name through high-energy, Caribbean-influenced dance music before officially joining Major Lazer in 2019.

Now based in Miami, Ape Drums has evolved into a leading voice in Afro-tech and Afro-house, blending global rhythms, funk and electronic elements into a sound distinctly his own.
